This morning, I woke up with butterflies in my stomach. It wasn’t just because Halloween was right around the corner but because I was going to school for some Halloween community service. My friends and I were given the super fun task of decorating the school and getting it all Halloween -ready.
We worked together to hang up paper bats, make creepy-crawly spiders, and even put-up friendly ghosts to make the school feel extra spooky. I got to hang a giant spider web in the hallway, which looked incredible! Everyone was dressed in their Halloween costumes, and the school was buzzing with excitement.
After school, my dad and I raced back home to continue the Halloween magic. We had been planning our Halloween decor for weeks, and it was finally time to put our ideas into action.
We started with the small pumpkins and a tiny skeleton head by our front door. It was such a cute and creepy welcome for anyone who visited us. Then, we spread spider webs all over the bushes, placed skeletons and bones on the grass, and put
red lights around the house. Our front yard was slowly turning into a haunted wonderland.
In the garden, we set up a spooky cat that seemed to come to life when you walked by. It had eerie glowing eyes that sent shivers down my spine. The center piece was a giant pumpkin with a cute ghost on it, and we fenced off our front yard with KEEP OUT tape to make it even spookier.
My favorite part was carving pumpkins with my mom. She carved a haunted tree that looked like it came straight from a scary movie while I carved a fence and some more pumpkins. We lit them up with candles, and they added a mysterious glow to our decorations.
As the sun started to set, it was time for the main event – trick-or-treating! My friends and I, all decked out in our unique costumes, set out on a quest for candy and fun. Our neighborhood was transformed into a spooky wonderland, just like our home.
We knocked on doors, yelled “Trick or treat!” and got a bucket-load of candies, chocolates, and even some spooky surprises. A bushman was hiding on the pathway, ready to scare anyone who walked by. He gave us a good fright but then laughed along with us.
One house was absolutely amazing. There was a man sitting on the porch with a pumpkin head, and he gave out treats to all the kids. It was so cool, and he even had some eerie music playing in the background. As I sit here, munching on my candy, I can’t help but smile.
Today has been the best Halloween ever. I got to decorate my school, transform my home into a haunted mansion, and go trick-or-treating with my friends. Halloween is all about spooky fun and togetherness, and I can’t wait for next year to do it all over again!
