I was craving something sweet today, so I wanted to cook jalebis for everybody but didn’t know how. I thought for a moment and went to my grandmother’s room to ask for help. When she heard this, she got excited and happy. She said that her little granddaughter is growing. We both went to the kitchen and started making jalebi batter.
It was new for me as grandma helped put the batter in the hot oil. I had never been close to the gas, especially the hot oil, so it was a unique experience.
My dad walked in to see what she and I were doing because he heard us giggling in the kitchen. He was surprised to see me cook something so special. He said that I’d become an Indian pastry chef and that grandma had passed her 50 years of experience to me.
When dad tasted the Jalebis, he loved it. He said it’s crunchy and delicious and that jalebis bring sweetness to people’s homes.
You always learn something new every day, which is why people say that learning should never stop.
