Dad and I woke up early as we had to go to my cousin Niva’s dance recital. We got ready and reached the venue where she was going to perform.

All the performers were in traditional Indian attires with Gajras, makeup, and hair, and they all looked beautiful. When the performance started, we were mesmerized by the classical Indian performance. After the performance ended, everyone started clapping and cheering. It was a fantastic performance, as rightly quoted by dad.

Then we reached the food counter. Dad got me Mango lassi. Dad started showing his classical moves, and he got it all wrong but still claimed himself to be the champion of dance. Then I showed some of my moves.

We had some time off between the performances, so I shared a story with dad and he was impressed.

Then we went inside to see my cousin’s next performance. The next act was beautifully narrated and effortlessly performed. Then again, there was a break time. I met Nive and told her how beautiful she was performing.

Dad and I made some of our moves and antics. Then it was time for the next performance. I love listening to and knowing about Hindu culture and stories. It was a fantastic show and very inspiring too. After the show, it was time for me to dance and put this inspiration to good use. I practised dandiya, and dad captured & stood there cheering for me.

It’d be right to say it was a dance kind of a day for dad & me, and we had a lot of fun. When was the last time you played a cheerleader for your favorite friend or cousin? Write to us and join us in our 365 days of fun.
