It was a Friday evening, and I couldn’t wait to prepare for our Dandiya Raas. I rummaged through my wardrobe and found my favorite outfit – a beautiful green ghagra choli. I just love how the bright green fabric swirls around me when I dance. My mom helped me get dressed, and when I looked in the mirror, I felt like a little Garba princess!ย
Once I was all dolled up and ready to go, I rushed downstairs, where my dad was waiting for me. We both were twinning; he wore a green kurta with colorful embroidery. He looked really cool. We both share the same excitement for Garba, and I was thrilled that he was coming with me.ย
We drove to our community hall, where a sea of people had gathered. Everyone was dressed in vibrant colors, just like me! The hall was decorated with colorful lanterns and traditional decorations, which made it even more exciting. As the music started, the energy in the room shot through the roof! The dandiya sticks were out, and everyone began to dance. I held my dad’s hand, and we joined the circle. Dancing to the lively beats and twirling around with my mom and dad was so much fun. I love how the music and the steps are so fast and energetic.ย ย
But here’s the really awesome part โ I got to teach my dad some new moves! I learned a few steps from my friends at school, and I showed them to him. He was super supportive and tried his best to keep up with my enthusiasm. We laughed, we stumbled, and we had an absolute blast. It was like our own little father-daughter dance-off, and I’m pretty sure we rocked it!ย
During the breaks, we met up with our family and friends and danced together. We even shared some delicious snacks and sweets. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and happiness, and seeing so many people enjoying themselves was incredible. As the night went on, I was a little tired but never wanted it to end. The Garba night was so much fun, and I felt so happy and grateful to have spent it with my dad and family. We danced until the music finally stopped, and it was time to head back home.ย ย
On our way home, my dad and I talked about how much fun we had and how we couldn’t wait for the next Garba night. I felt so lucky to have such an awesome dad who shared in my excitement and danced with me. It was a Friday night I’ll never forget!ย
