Diwali Across Miles: Celebrating Home, Heart, and Happiness πŸͺ”βœ¨

Diwali β€” the festival of lights, love, and togetherness β€” has always had a way of wrapping our hearts in nostalgia. Growing up, it was never just about fireworks or sweets; it was about the little rituals that defined family β€” the soft glow of diyas lining our home, the clinking of steel plates filled with homemade mithai, the teasing between siblings as we helped Mom decorate the house.

This year, even though we were miles away from India, our #DiwaliUSWali celebration brought that magic alive β€” and then some. The biggest surprise? My brother Anuj showing up unannounced on Bhaidooj! That moment alone made the miles melt away.

We celebrated every bit of it with our extended family here β€” draping lights across the living room, creating a rangoli bursting with color, dressing up in our favorite festive outfits, cooking all our favorite dishes, and of course, dancing and singing late into the night. Every smile, every shared story, every burst of laughter felt like a piece of home finding its way back to us. πŸ’›

πŸ’› You can take the family out of India, but you can never take India out of the family. It travels in every story, every smile, every diya we light β€” no matter where we are.

Diwali, for us, is more than a festival β€” it’s a bridge between where we come from and where we are.
It’s the laughter that crosses time zones, the aroma of home-cooked food that fills a foreign kitchen, the stories that keep our roots alive.

Because India lives in the way we celebrate, in the stories we tell, and in the memories we pass on β€” glowing quietly in every home, every heart, every journey abroad.

And through every diya we light, every story we share, and every moment we capture β€” we see India Through the Eyes of an NRI Kid.
Jahaan Har Ek Safar Kahani Sunati Hai β€” aur har kahani, ghar tak le jaati hai
